After years of hanging from aircraft and leaping across rooftops, Tom Cruise has reportedly accepted a challenge his stunt team described as “outside our coverage”: asking a client to sign a change order.

The sequence required Cruise to lower himself into an office, establish eye contact and explain that the additional work was, in fact, additional.

Three rehearsals ended when the client said, “Wasn’t that included?” A fourth was abandoned after someone mentioned checking with accounting.

Producers confirmed that Cruise performed the entire stunt himself. For the final scene, in which payment arrives within thirty days, the production will use special effects.
