Two ways to connect
Start with how you bill.
| Workflow detail | AR invoice setup | Order Entry setup |
|---|---|---|
| Created in Sage Intacct | Customers, projects and AR invoices | Customers and configured Order Entry transactions |
| Job tracking | Each eligible service job becomes a project using the Centerpoint job number | Invoices are assigned to mapped branch jobs, with location and department |
| Invoice detail | Material, labor and other lines mapped to GL accounts; selected job types can use a summary line | A service line at the invoice total |
| Invoice document | The customer-facing invoice PDF is attached to the AR invoice | The accounting team can print or email the invoice from Sage Intacct |
| Typical schedule | Jobs hourly; sent invoices every 30 minutes | Sent invoices hourly |
| Customer matching | ID, name and existing customer-number rules | Existing Sage customer-number mapping |
| Before launch | Confirm invoice dates, closed-period handling and payment terms with your accounting team. | Confirm invoice dates, closed-period handling, payment terms and update/re-send behavior. |
Schedules, matching rules and mappings are confirmed during setup. These are scheduled workflows; they are not a promise of instant delivery.
How it works
From service job to accounting record.
- Choose the setup.
Review how your team bills in Sage and select the appropriate AR invoice or Order Entry route.
- Map the records.
Configure customer matching, eligible jobs, invoice details, GL accounts and branch mappings for your route.
- Send eligible invoices.
The configured schedule picks up sent invoices. Draft invoices are skipped.
- Review in Sage.
Check the resulting accounting records and resolve reported exceptions. AR invoice edits that are re-sent can update the existing record, subject to accounting controls.
Implementation
Mapped to the way your team works.
What we configure together
- AR invoice or Order Entry workflow
- Eligible service jobs and invoice criteria
- Customer IDs and existing-record matching
- GL accounts, job types, tax and payment terms
- Branch, location, department and project mappings
- Sync schedule and exception-notification recipients
Prove the workflow before launch
We review your Sage setup, configure the mappings, then test representative jobs and invoices with your accounting team before enabling the agreed workflow.
Historical backfills and payment updates are separate scope decisions. Confirm their availability and rules for your implementation.
Questions teams ask
Know what to expect.
Does this replace Sage Intacct?
No. Centerpoint manages the roofing operation while Sage Intacct remains your accounting system. The connection moves the records included in your configured workflow.
Will draft invoices sync?
The documented AR and Order Entry workflows pick up sent invoices. Draft invoices are skipped.
Does the integration move payments back into Centerpoint?
Payment workflows depend on your implementation. Ask the team to confirm supported payment types, timing and reconciliation rules. A payment return flow is not implied by the invoice setup described here.
Can we use our own chart of accounts and terms?
Yes. GL mapping, job types and payment terms are part of configuration. Closed-period handling also differs by workflow and should be reviewed with your accounting team.
What happens if a record cannot sync?
The documented workflow reports exceptions for review. Your team corrects the source details or mapping and reprocesses as appropriate. An error-free email inbox alone is not proof that every record has reconciled.
